Gravytrain Limited have decided to host their annual firework display at Kevin's house on the 8th November. All staff have been invited to the prestigious event and rumour has it that Kevin and Roc have gone all out this year to impress their guests as well as their children.
The Big Bang and Crazy Mongoose are the two main attractions of the evening. The Big Bang is a propelled rocket that will be used for the finale of the event. The rocket, once in the sky is due to release around 15 different colours lighting up the entire sky with a 'Big Bang'. The shop assistant recommended this one and it is the most anticipated firework of the event.
The crazy mongoose is a huge firework containing about 150 different rockets. It is massive in size and is said to keep viewers occupied approximately 4 minutes. Quite impressive for a firework!
Hot food and drinks will be served at the event. Most staff requesting that hot chocolate and tea be available during the display. A big pot of chilli and curry with rice is also said to be making an appearence on the food table.
All Gravytrain Limited's staff are attending the event which is said to be incredible. Last year the event was a big hit with staff and Kevin and Roc will be hoping that it goes the same way this year.

A Packet Of Hob-Nobs Is The Key
Over the past couple of years Gravytrain Limited's design team have come up with some brilliant ideas and designs, so that makes me wonder, how do they think of these brilliant ideas within such a small time frame given to them. I sat down with one of the design team and discussed this subject, with the hope of gaining the truth behind the brain of a Gravytrain Limited designer.
The design team have produced some excellent work this year with some of their sites including big names such as Lifesure, SEHBAC, Flaps International and Mortgage Plus as just to name a few. Other sites they have designed and created include Quotesearcher, the new price comparison site. Our design team sit in front of the computer screen for hours on end, building and creating to perfection.
Whilst on their lunch break, I caught up with one of the design team and asked him a few questions about his job role. From this small interview I gathered that the key to most of the designs is a pack of McVities Hob-Nobs!! According to our design team the dark chocolate biscuit snack feeds the brain increasing its concentration span allowing the team to work hard and fast for hours on end. It is rumoured that the design team can go through up to 5 packets of Hob-Nobs a day when working on a difficult project. That's a lot of food for the brain!! Talk about food for thought!!

Gravytrain Limited Designers Update Quote Engine Skin
Gravytrain Limited created the Quotesearcher quote engine that users will use on the Quotesearcher website to retrieve quotes from a number of different partners. This quote engine's skin or front end look was built a very long time ago and the coding used in the skin was extremely dated.

Gravytrain Give Quotesearcher Results Page Flash Animation
Gravytrain Limited have designed and created the website Quotesearcher.co.uk. This website offers it's customers insurance comparison on a range of insurance products including car, home, bike and van insurance. It currently offers an interactive quote engine for car insurance and this is going to be spread across home, bike and van insurance in the coming months.
Users receive their results on the results page. When the Gravytrain designers looked at this page they felt that the page was boring but liked the idea of having the quotes coming in live rather than displaying the quotes once they had all been collected. To increase user interest in the page and prevent the user from getting bored whilst waiting for their quotes, the Gravytrain Limited designers have decided to create a flash animation that will only appear whilst the users quotes are being collected.
The flash animation involves books floating across the screen from one folder to another. These books each have the logo or branding of one of Quotesearchers partners. This animation was created with the aim of keeping the user occupied whilst their quotes are collected from the Quotesearcher system. Before, all the page had on it was a percentage counter that went up as the number of quotes were gathered. It was compared with watching paint dry by one of the designers meaning it was not very good for the page.

Gravytrain Limited's design team started the re-vamp of the current Gravytrain website today. The new website aims to promote the services that our company offers and also provides users with information and tutorials. Mortgage Plus Decide To Go Forward With New Website Design
One of Gravytrain Limited's clients, Mortgage Plus has decided to go ahead with a complete re-design of their current website. The gravytrain designers have agreed on a proposal with the Irish mortgage provider and have now moved into the construction phase.
Mortgage Plus are one of the leading mortgage providers in Ireland and felt that their website needed modernising and updating if they was to keep this title. They wanted their new website to be clearly split into product sections for each product that they offer and this has been put into the new design. The entire layout of the website has been changed and is now more accessible and easier to use for the every day user. The results page at the moment currently displays car insurance quote details to the user once they have submitted all of there relevant information. Using this page they can see their cheapest quotes and then have the option to pay for the quote using Quotesearchers online payment service.
After discussing the task, the gravytrain limited designers decided that the results page needed to have some kind of animation added to it so that users had something to look at whilst waiting for the quotes to come in. They also decided that the results should be placed in an iframe. This is because in the older version of the results page the whole page would refresh everytime a new quote comes in.
Now put in an iframe the Gravytrain Limited designers have made it so that only the results table refreshes once a new quote comes in. Quotesearcher Gets Some New Partners
Quotesearcher is an insurance comparison site. Just recently, with the help of Gravytrain Limited, Quotesearcher has added some new car insurance partners to its panel bringing the number of car insurance partners up to 8.
Gravytrain Limited's designers had to size the insurer's logos correctly and the Gravytrain web developers has to put in all the back end code (which is more like jargon to the human eye) to allow these insurers to deliver online quotes to users looking for cheap car insurance.

MQD Quote Process Get's Edited
One of Gravytrain Limited's valued clients Bedford Insurance (Motor Quote Direct) wanted to make it easier for users to obtain a quote from their website. The designers at Gravytrain looked at the whole quote process and analysed how they could make it easier and achieve the clients goal.
After working with Bedford Insurance, we decided that if we merged a number of stages in the quote process together we could make the quote process a lot shorter and therefore make it easier for user's to get a quote. The Gravytrain Limited designers added a toggle feature to the merged page to allow the user to interact with the page and choose what content they wanted to see and how they wanted to see it.

Minibus Insurance Is A Go!
Gravytrain Limited's latest addition to their range of insurance products on Quuotesearcher.co.uk is minibus insurance. Gravytrain created the form to work in a similar way to motorhome and touring caravan. The users submit their details via a web form which is then sent to our partners.
These partners will then contact the client competing to give them the best quote on their minibus insurance. Gravytrain Limited's next move is to introduce even more insurance products such as life and also add utilities and a new money section for users to use.

Quotesearcher is a price comparison site created and maintained by Gravytrain Limited. Today was the launch of motorhome insurance adding to the list of car, home, bike, van and taxi insurance.

Gravytrain Limited insurance price comparion site, Quotesearcher is now selling taxi insurance. The designers made the form as simple to fill out as possible with the aim that users could quickly and easily submit their details.

Lifesure's New Website Goes Live
Lifesure's new website is now live on the internet. They wanted their site to have a more updated look and feel as well as making it easier for users to put forward their details to obtain a quote.
The design team at Gravytrain Ltd stripped all of the forms down to the bare minimum so that users wouldn't look at the forms and think that they would take to long to fill out. With this in mind the design team hope that this will in turn improve conversion rates. A new menu system was added to the site as well as a few new features.

Flint Insurance Goes For New Landing Pages
Flint Insurance have asked us at Gravytrain Limited to design and build some new landing pages in conjunction with their PPC campaign. These landing pages will have the sole aim of converting users to boost Flint's return on investment.

Pensions Plus
One of Gravytrain Limited's clients, Mortgage Plus, have asked us to build them a new website to promote their new pension scheme's. This website will offer clients the opportunity to get in contact with the company and hopefully generate more leads and sales for Mortgage Plus.

Spindoo Goes Live
Gravytrain Limited is pleased to announce that the new design for Spindoo's website is now live. The designers at Graytrain added a number of different flash elements to make the site more attractive and worked with company KSIL to intergrate the old quote system with the new design.
The flash elements that were added included a spinning logo and an animated menu system that worked very well with the rest of the site. Other features included a raining money effect behind the guarentee information. The Gravytrain Limited designers had to then get the flash elements to work with ASP and again worked with KSIL to accomplish this.

Virtual Tours
Gravytrain Limited has come to realise that more and more people on the internet are now using virtual tours to promote venues and places of interest as well as other things. We at Gravytrain Limited believe that these virtual tours can improve a users experience of your website due to the interactivity that the tours offer to a user.
Virtual Tours can be embedded into HTML pages as a Flash file (.swf) or a Quicktime file (.mov). The only problem with embedding VT's this way is that the user may have to install the correct plug in depending on the file that has been embedded in the page. Gravytrain Limited, however believes that as later versions of browsers are released these plug-ins will come automatically installed as things like Flash and Quicktime are becoming more and more popular in websites as time goes on.

Spacemaker Get A New Look
Spacemaker Furniture asked us here at Gravytrain Limited to do a refresh of their current site. They requested that the refresh didn't stray to far from the current design. The aim of the refresh was to get users to convert better by requesting brochures and booking designer visits.
To help achieve this goal the designers at Gravytrain Limited placed more call to action on the pages. This was done by adding buttons on the top banner of every page and to the right of the main image of the page.
Gravytrain designers also made the testimonials fade in and out, giving Spacemaker the ability to display more than two testimonials to the users of the website.

Photo 6
Photo 6 offer a range of different photography services to its customers. These services include elevated and commercial photography and virtual tours. Photo 6 came to Gravytrain Limited wanting a brand new website with a professional look and feel to it.
The Gravytrain Limited designers got to work on the new website and included a load of interactive features that the user can interact with whilst they browse the site. This aimed at showing off the companies work and making the user realise that Photo 6 dont just come and take photos.

One of Gravytrain Limited's latest additions to their vast client portfolio is 2I Asset Management Limited. 2I have seen that the internet is the biggest upcoming marketplace in their target market and therefore asked us to build them a website that they can promote their company through.

Gravytrain Limited: SmarterAirCharter.com
Flaps International Ltd is a private air charter company that offers its customers a private personal airline service. Their website offers a contact form that customers can use to get Flaps to contact them regarding a quote. Flaps wanted to give their website a new look that was smart, clean and gave a professional look to their company.
We at Gravytrain Limited were given the task of creating this new website and we came up with a new website which gave the exact look and feel that Flaps were after. The site is under the domain name of SmarterAirCharter.com and runs as a sister site to FlapsInternational.net. The site is currently live at the moment and Gravytrain Limited have high hopes for its success.

Gravytrain Limited: Spacemaker Landing Pages
One of Gravytrains newest clients, Spacemaker are running a PPC campaign that is managed by the PPC specialists here at Gravytrain Limited. To try and boost the conversion rates of this PPC campaign we decided to build specific landing pages for each of the three main products that Spacemaker and advertising for. These include Bedrooms, Bathrooms and Office Furniture.
The designers at Gravytrain Limited have designed these pages with the goal of getting users to request a brochure from Spacemaker. Gravytrain Limited: Liberate UK
One of Gravytrain Limited's clients include Liberate UK who offer telephone answering services to small to medium sized businesses. Gravytrain limited currently run Liberates PPC campaigns for them and are currently aiming to convert more users on their site.
To fulfill this aim the designers at Gravytrain Limited have created a new landing page which aims to convert users better than the current landing page on the site. The new landing page has the same consistent look as the rest of the site and contains a 'Request a Callback' form, where users fill out their details and request a member of the Liberate team to phone them back.
Gravytrain Limited designers put emphasis on the form so that it stands out of the page when the user looks at it with the idea of further encouraging the user to fill out the form and request a callback. Gravytrain designers found that the form on the old landing page was a bit lost within the page and did not stand out enough.

Gravytrain Limited: Academy Van Insurance Flash Advertisement Banners
The designers at gravytrain were asked by Academy Insurance to create several flash banners to promote their van insurance on the Autotrader van website. The banners are aimed at grabbing the users attention and enticing them to click.
Once they click the banner it will take them through to the Van Insurance landing page, which was also designed by Gravytrain, with the hope that the user will fill out the form and request a quote from Academy.

Gravytrain Limited: Blakes Golf Club
One of Gravytrain's clients, Blakes Golf Club, has requested a new look and design to their current website. At this point in time their site is split into 2 parts. The restaurant and the golf course. Blakes have asked us to bond the two so that the website still offers functionalilty and the 2 services can still be distinctly recognised in the one website.

This is a brilliant idea as it saves the user searching through hundreds of form fields looking for their profession, therefore increasing the accessibity of the website. Gravytrain Ltd Case Study: QuoteYourTaxi.com
QuoteYourTaxi.com is a website, built and designed by Gravytrain Limited. QuoteYourTaxi have recently asked Gravytrain to change the call to action on their website as they have recently introduced a new interactive quoting system that gives users a quote instantly online in minutes.
Gravytrain changed all of the calls to action on the site to aim at getting users to get a quote online rather than getting the user to fill out their contact details, as it was before the new quoting system came into action. The new quoting system does however have some problems as it can only quote on insurance policies based on one vehicle. Gravytrain Limited got around this problem by creating a new form for users who are wanting to insure a fleet of vehicles with QuoteYourTaxi. This form gave QuoteYourTaxi all the details they needed to contact the customer and give them a quote.

Quotesearcher.co.uk is designed and hosted by Gravytrain Limited. The designers at Gravytrain have recently decided to re-design the Quotesearcher website to give it a new look and feel and to make it look more modern. Gravytrain Ltd Case Study: New Google Analytics Code
Gravytrain Limited officialy started using the new google analytics code in most of its websites today. Gravytrain also manages PPC campaigns for its customers and the new analytics code comes with many new features that can advantage Gravytrain's customers quite hugely.
The new code is completely different to the old code as it is now object orientated. The new code is also personalised to google rather than in the old code which they inherited when Google bought out Urchin. Gravytrain Ltd Analytics now uses the new code allowing its customers to gain the new benefits as well as allowing them to keep on tracking their pages when Google finally pulls the plug on the old Urchin code in favour of the new one.

Gravytrain Ltd Case Study: Flaps International
Gravytrain Limited was asked by Flaps International to design them a new website giving it a professional look and feel giving the user a safe and quality impression of the company. Flaps International is a private flight charter broker who connects customers looking to fly on a private jet to private airlines.
Flaps wanted Gravytrain to convert more users to enquire about flights from one of their number different private flight charters. Gravytrain's designers gave the site a black back drop giving it a smart feel and included a lot of images of private jet interiors giving the impression of a quality expensive airline. Gravytrain also included lots of calls to action to the site encouraging visitors to enquier about private flights.

Gravytrain Ltd Case Study: RunKevRun.com
Gravytrain Limited is currently creating a website for its directors fund raising campaign to raise money for African Revival. Gravytrain director is going to run the London Marathon in April this year, in aid of Africa Revival, and his employees at Gravytrain have created the site so that people can go online and sponsor Kevin and raise money for his charity.
RunKevRun.com is only a very small site containing a few pages explaining what Kevin Taylor (Director of Gravytrain Limited) is setting out to achieve and how he plans to achieve these goals. Gravytrain designers included descriptions of his training schedule and a personal blog that Kevin updates daily into the site. The blog was aimed at giving users an update on how Kevin was finding his training and how he felt he was doing leading up to the big event.
Some say that Kevin Taylor wont finish the marathon and will put it down to his knee injury that he is currently suffering with but here at Gravytrain we know for a fact that Kevin, even with an injured knee, will still cross the finish line. Even if he is behind the guy in the deep sea diving suit!!.

Gravytrain Ltd Case Study: CommercialQuoteDirect.com
CommercialQuoteDirect.com is another section of Gravytrain Ltd's QuoteDirect Insurances site for Bedford's Insurance Broker. Gravytrain Ltd was asked by Bedford's to add this addition to QuoteDirect and make it blend with the over pages and sections of the site. The designers at Gravytrain gave the section the exact same layout as other sections in the site, keeping consistency throughout and keeping the QuoteDirect brand.
CommercialQuoteDirect was designed by Gravytrain Ltd to be easy for the user to use and kept the idea of having the 5 buttons on every page linking the CommercialQuoteDirect section to other insurance sections in the QuoteDirect site.

Gravytrain Ltd Case Study: Flint Insurance Group
Flint Insurance Group came to Gravytrain Limited and asked us to design and build a micro-site for to target a new type of customer in the insurance market. Flint told us at Gravytrain that they aimed to target companies that had been accredited the new Investor in People accreditation offering them 25% off of their premiums if they purchased their premiums through Flint Insurance.
We at Gravytrain Ltd set out to complete our task and constructed a website that would do exactly what the customer wanted. The designers at Gravytrain put an explaination on the site of the new accreditation and worked on surprising the customer that they could get 25% off of their insurance premiums. Loads of calls to action were placed on the new micro-site, with Gravytrain Ltd's aim of converting users into potential customers of Flint Insurances.

Gravytrain Ltd Case Study: GenuineHelp.co.uk
Personal Finance Solutions (PFS) are a debt management company who came to Gravytrain Limited and asked us to redesign there website to make it more modern and up to date. PFS wanted Gravytrain to give the new website a local feel so that users trust the client through the site and feel secure when using the site.
Gravytrain Limited took images and parts from the companies TV advertisement campaign and incorporated it into the new website. The Angel of the North was a big feature that we at Gravytrain Limited put into the site as the company felt that the local users of the website could relate to it, giving the site its local trustworthy feel.
